Our Story
Hatteras Island is a special place — 70 miles of barrier island where the Atlantic meets the Pamlico Sound, connected to the mainland by a single road that washes out in storms. The homes here take a beating that mainland properties never see: salt air that corrodes hardware in months, storms that rip screens and boards loose, and a summer rental season that puts more wear on a house in six months than most homes see in five years.
We started OBX Home Services because we saw a gap. Property owners — especially vacation rental owners who live hours away — needed a reliable, licensed, insured local pro who could respond fast and communicate clearly. Not a contractor who drives in from the mainland and charges for the trip. Not someone who disappears after a storm. A person who lives on this island, knows these homes, and shows up when they say they will.
That's what we do. We handle the maintenance that keeps Hatteras Island homes safe, functional, and guest-ready — from deck repair and outdoor showers to storm prep and interior work. We work with property management companies as a preferred vendor, and we offer monthly retainer programs for out-of-state owners who want someone keeping an eye on their property year-round.
